Below are some great points from our Oct 4th meeting at 2603 S. Miami Blvd. Next meeting Oct 18th, 1:00pm.

Someone asked about the link to the Hayhouse radio station. They have Abraham, Jerry and Esther every Tuesday at 3:00pm EST (among other great programs)

A friend in the group recommended the below book. I’m going to check it out, myself.
The Answer: Grow Any Business, Achieve Financial Freedom, and Live an Extraordinary Life (Paperback) by John Assaraf

A few thought-provoking questions came up during our Sunday “Attracting Your Perfect Life with LOA” meeting, that I would like to share.

1) I’ve heard two different ways to handle something “negative”. One was to focus on it by trying to think of positive aspects and other “better feeling” thoughts; and the other is to simply ignore it. Which is right?

Well – you’re right. They seem contradictory, don’t they? Let’s step back a little. The main objective is to get into a "more allowing" state. The way to do that is to simply “feel a little better” about any and everything. So – if it feels better to “ignore it” for the time being, a good step is to distract yourself with something else that will kick you into a higher vibrational/energy allowing level. If it feels better to play some of those process games like pivoting, the focus wheel, virtual reality, scripting, etc – then that’s a nice next step.

For example: There’s this incident or experience that I might continuously bump into. It happens to illicit negative feelings on my part -- every time I even look in that direction. When I try some of those higher-level vibrational tools, I just get more frustrated. I may think of one positive aspect, but then fall back to resentment or whatever. I then start feeling mad at myself for not being able to tap into better feeling thoughts. None of this is beneficial to me. So, the best step for me, at this juncture is to shrug it off and say, “Okay – I’m not ready to look at this just yet. That’s okay – I know eventually I will be. I know everything works out well for me in the long run. So, this is no biggy. It’s just a slight speed bump. When I’m ready to look at this again, it will be much easier. I’m working too hard on it right now. And that’s usually a sign that a better way is just around the corner. I just don’t see it yet. It will come. I will figure this out. Until then I’ll focus on something else. And the next time this particular element crosses my path, I’ll be in a much better place to handle it calmly, confidently and with style. I don’t need the answer right now. The next time this crosses my path, the event will be beneficial and uplifting for everyone involved”.

Nothing has really changed about the incident – I’m just putting it away for now – which is making me feel better.
Then I go off and distract myself with a walk, dancing, a movie, etc.
What usually happens is that the next time it does cross my path or mind – I am in a better energy, vibrational position to do some of those other things to help “clean up my signals”.

So – in my opinion, it’s not one or the other. It can be a combination or whatever fits at the time. We’re constantly changing our moods, our beliefs, our attitudes, our surroundings. As we change, we respond/react/feel differently. A better feeling thought depends on where you are.

2) Meditation is recommended by many great teachers. But Abraham seems to suggest virtual scripting or virtual reality instead. Why is that?

Well – I don’t feel that “virtual reality/virtual scripting” is better than meditation. They are both very useful. Remember -- the ultimate goal is to get into a state of allowing. And these are both great tools to help us on that path. They just provide different results, depending on where you are at the time.
For instance: If I have a mass of mangled, frustrating, busy, over-active down-spiraling thoughts going on, it’s probably hard to get a “good thought” in. If I am in this particular state, I am pretty far away from “allowing” any of the great stuff in. It’s as if all my pipes are all gunked up. It’s hard for anything good to flow through. Everything that comes out of it is tainted with this gooey stuff.

So – the best to first step is to “stop” thinking for a few moments. Just clear your mind, wipe the slate clean, clean those pipes out so to speak. Meditation is a very powerful tool to turn off the water and clear that gunk. Meditation isn’t the only tool. Focusing on your breathing, or counting, or a humming a single note or listening to soothing music, etc – helps quiet the mind. Walking on the treadmill, focusing on muscle toning, focusing on any single repetitive item works well, too. Whatever works easily and best for you at that moment– is the best for you for the moment. It would not always be the same technique either. Just do what feels better for the moment that you are in.

Once you have that clean pipeline or that “clean slate” (have quieting the mind), you are in a better place to play those other games of virtual reality, scripting, creative workshop, list of positive aspects, appreciation, etc. Those games actually place us in a higher state of allowing, while meditation sets the stage for a more beneficial experience of those games.

One thing that I recommend, though, is to remember your goal. The goal is to deliberately place yourself into the state of allowing. If you are already in a very positive, appreciative, joyous state – you are already in the state of allowing. At that point, quieting the mind with meditation could be considered “a step backwards”. At this point, you don’t need to “shut the mind down” – because the thoughts, feelings, inspirations you are currently receiving and generating are pure, clean, joyously moving you forward. You are in the flow. Meditating, at this point, is a pause or “the shut off valve” to your creativity, your flow, your allowing.

So, it all depends on where you are at the moment. If you are already in a good feeling place, you don’t need to “stop and pause”; just go with the flow.
If you are in a place of overwhelment, or frustration, pausing may be the better feeling place for that moment.

Let me know if this has been helpful.
