I assume you are the Sherri I was talking to about this - I went home and figured it out, I was referring credits that last 364 days and don't count as ?permanent?. Including Structured Investment Vehicles (SIVs) that allowed banks to borrow short and lend long off balance sheet to bend rules. SIVs often invest in sub-prime loans and collateralized debt obligations. Spain's banking regulator allowed them only if banks put capital aside allowing Spain to avoid problems seen elsewhere. ”
