Free Lecture with Patrick Harbula

I've included a recent newsletter from the Centre for Positive Living. CPL is, essentially, the Secret in practice and it often has classes or workshops that enable us to further our understanding of conscious thought and how to manifest what we want in our lives. There are two different 8 week classes coming up in mid-march: The Secret revealed and Emerson's Essays -- the roots of new thought. I just became a member of CPL, at the urging of a friend, as one approach to turning the principles of the secret into a daily practice. What Did You Not Get Enough of as a Child?

Reverend Patrick Harbula, author of The Magic of the Soul: Applying Spiritual Power to Daily Living will be giving a free lecture (love offering to the Centre welcomed) on the subject of his book on Wednesday February 14 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. He will be offering a second workshop Saturday February 17 from 9 to 2 p.m. on Live Your Passion: Life Purpose Here and Now at the Centre for Positive Living?Calgary at 103 17th Avenue SE.

Harbula has made many appearances on local and national radio and TV in the U.S. with his message of Living Your Passion. He has a simple yet profound formula to help people clarify their life purpose, which he defines as ?what we love to do that makes the world a better place?or contributes to the lives of others.? He says that the key to success in any vocation, service project, or profound goal is to ?1) Apply a clearly defined life purpose consistently in your life and 2) have a clear vision of your goal and take the practical steps to reach it. Every time we touch someone with our life purpose, our passion is activated as we sense the blessing of our gift being received. And each time we take a step toward manifesting our dream, we are filled with passion for its full realization as it becomes more concrete.?

One of the steps in his formula is to identify ?the quality or guidance that you didn?t receive enough of as a child.? He says that ?we tend to think that what we didn?t receive enough of is standing in the way of our greatest success, but we can completely reframe that and recognize that the quality that we didn?t get enough of is what inspires us to create or demonstrate that quality in the world and therefore is our greatest asset. It is in fact, what drives our passion to succeed.?

Patrick Harbula is a non-denominational minister and has been conducting spiritual and transpersonal psychology classes and seminars for over 20 years. In 1986, he founded Meditation magazine, a national, bimonthly publication, which offered a diverse presentation of spiritual practice.
